Dr. Moritz Neumark lived in the villa at Alt Herrenwyk 1
Dr. Moritz Neumark, neé 1866, was a member of the Deutsche Demokratische Partei, a liberal party, and in 1919 he was elected to the Lübecker Bürgerschaft, as the district council was called. He was the general manager of the Lübecker Hochofenwerke AG, later renamed as Metallhütte Lübeck, a steel mill. Being a Jew he was forced to resign from his post in 1934. In 1943 he was deported from Berlin to Teresin, a concentration camp near Prague where he was killed 25 February 1943.
